[Statesville Library] Computer Classes

Full Description

The Statesville library hosts one computer class each month, with a rotating series of topics. Each class takes place on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 2:00-3:35 pm upstairs in the computer lab. Classes are broken up with a short break, and two reference staff members will be in the room teaching and assisting.

Computer Basics

Feel like you don’t know the first thing about computers? Join us in our first computer class, where we’ll look at the very basics of computer use, from naming the parts of a computer, to using the mouse and keyboard, to basic troubleshooting when things aren’t working right.

Navigating the Library's Website

We’re proud of our website here at ICPL and would love to show you some of its key features! While we could never explore each of its parts within our limited time frame, join as us we show you how to navigate our catalog, sign in to your library account, register for programs, sign up for Libby, and utilize our collection of digital resources and databases.

Microsoft Word & Excel

Needing to get more familiar with Microsoft’s Word and Excel programs? We would love to help with that! This class will be divided into two parts. In our first part, we’ll focus on Microsoft Word- how to navigate the menu options, save and print documents, format your documents, and modify page layout. After a break, our focus in the second session will be on Microsoft Excel- how to navigate the menu options, how to enter and format data in the cells, and how to use basic formulas for quick data calculation.
