Land Grants for Iredell and Rowan Counties 1753-1793

This is a database listing the early Granville land grants for Iredell and Rowan counties. Iredell formed out of Rowan County in 1788, so many land grant requests were originally documented in Rowan but were issued in Iredell. The scanned copies of these documents are available at the library and are filed as they are listed here in the Genealogical Society Room.

To help with this, our indexes have been put in alphabetical order by last name to make finding people easier. The library houses abstracts of these wills and the scanned originals are located the Genealogical Society Room. Copies can be requested through the library.

The Genealogical Society has a collection of documents that chronicle the development of Statesville and Iredell County. These maps, surveys, and blueprints are from the 1920s to the 1980s and consist of private and commercial properties.

There have been many local historians and researchers who have helped document Statesville and Iredell County history throughout the years and they kept meticulous records of their research. These collections formed the basis of many newspaper articles and are full of important local family and historical information.
