Who are Iredell Friends of the Library?

Iredell Friends of the Library are people like you who want to help the library grow with the community.

Iredell Friends of the Library is an organization of interested contributors wanting to be involved with encouraging the development of readers and lifelong library users.

Local History Projects
Louanne Watts and Joel Reese PresentationThe Iredell County Public Library received the NC Preservation Consortium 2016 Award for Preservation Excellence for the preservation and digitization of the library’s photograph collection. The Friends purchased archival supplies to preserve the original photographs and negatives.

Lunch & Learn
The Iredell Friends of the Library provide dessert and beverages for each Wednesday’s discussion.

Let’s Talk About It
The Iredell Friends of the Library invited five visiting professors to talk about books in the Let’s Talk About It series and provided refreshments.

New Programs
The Iredell Friends of the Library have recently started sponsoring several new programs - Adult Pinterest Craft Club - Cookbook Club - 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.

Book Sale

The Iredell Friends of the Library are responsible for maintaining the book sale at the Statesville library. The book sale offers donated items and former collection materials that can be purchased by patrons. Please note that debit and credit transactions can not be applied to book sale purchases.

  • Sponsored the preservation of the Tharpe/Stimson Photo Collection with over 117,000 images viewed more than 8 million times
