Go Beneath the Surface and choose one or all four of the programs designed for pre-teens and teens to express themselves. Participation for most parts of the program will be self motivated and designed to suit individual schedules. Registration begins Friday, June 7 at the Troutman Branch Library.
Comic Teams: A group of two will build a story and illustrations that they will develop into a comic book.
Cosplay: Designed for individual expression. Teens will assemble a costume based on a character. This character may talk about the development of the costume or interact with other individuals to create a short program.
Amigurumi: Participants will learn to crochet and stuff animals or anthropomorphic characters on Tuesday afternoons.
Poetry: Start with a blank page or create blackout poetry that will be placed on display for the grand finale on July 31.
The summer reading program is sponsored by the Troutman Friends of the Library and the State Library of North Carolina.
