Join your neighbors at the library in Statesville for “Lunch & Learn” programs. The programs feature authors and speakers from our community discussing a wide range of topics, including health, literature and the arts. Programs are on selected Wednesdays from 12:10 pm until 12:50 pm.
The public is invited to bring a brown bag lunch and eat while enjoying an entertaining and informative program. The Iredell Friends of the Library will provide drinks and desserts for these free programs.

A model of H.M.S. Victory, Admiral Lord Nelson’s flagship in the Battle of Trafalgar, is now on exhibit at the Iredell County Public Library in Statesville. The ship is on display on the first floor of the library.

Statesville architect Andrew L. Pendleton, who built the model, loaned it to the library to display this spring. Mr. Pendleton spent 1,000 hours working on the project between 1976 and 1982, the equivalent of fifty 40-hour work weeks. The model is so large that Mr. Pendleton had to build a custom-made mantle in his home to accommodate the ship.
Mr. Pendleton will discuss his model and to answer questions about his work at the next Lunch and Learn program Wednesday, March 6 from 12:10 PM until 12:50 PM.
