Homer Maxwell Keever (Feb. 16, 1905 – Sept. 12, 1979) was an Iredell County teacher and historian
who wrote the most comprehensive history to date of Iredell County Iredell: Piedmont County, published in 1976.
Mr. Keever was on the staff of the Statesville Record and Landmark writing his column “Out of Our Past” from
1950-1978.
The library houses copies of Mr. Keever's original papers, notes and an index of
newspaper articles by Mr. Keever on Iredell County history.
