What will your contribution support?

How does your donation make a difference in our community? Contributions to Iredell Friends of the Library support programs that the library budget does not cover, including:

  • Preschool programs that open the door to literacy for young children
  • Summer reading programs that keep children engaged and learning while school is out
  • Author visits
  • Iredell Reads - a biennial community read program
  • Let's Talk About It - A yearly book discussion series for adults led by scholars from regional colleges and universities
  • Lunch & Learn - Weekly lunchtime programs that feature authors and speakers from our community discussing a wide range of topics including health, literature and the arts.
  • Movies - The Iredell Friends of the Library pays for a public performance license and purchases DVDs so the library can offer free movie programs for our patrons
  • Local History Projects including the preservation of historical documents and the digitization and preservation of historic photograph collections
  • Matching funds for grants - The Iredell Friends of the Library has enabled the library to take advantage of grant opportunities by providing required matching funds
